NPE Media were in London last week hosting a media training day for young sports apprentices, part of the nationwide Skillsactive programme. NPE Media’s media training was one of four workshops for the apprentices, which also included a motivational seminar hosted by Dame Kelly Holmes, a strength and conditioning seminar and a sports nutrition seminar.

Media training in Belfast has previously been undertaken by NPE Media, but the company now does most of its media training work in London. Media training in Belfast is still something of a new concept but this is not the case elsewhere in the UK. NPE Media is hoping to do more media training at home in Belfast and Dublin, following the success of the seminars in London. Media training in Ireland is as important as anywhere else.

NPE Media director, Graham Little led the media training seminar, passing on tips he has picked up from experience at the other end of the microphone. He had lots of advice for the young sportspeople, with many sports specific examples of how to deal with the media.
